[The Sky Will Break When I Wake]

Thunder drowned out any sound beyond itself in the Trüble Manor. Without a single cloud in the sky, this was beyond the usual 'unusual' happenings on the property. Again and again, the sky howled with a fierce rebellion to normality. So hard, in fact, the Earth beneath it moved. The ground shifted, the walls cracked. Thorn came to check on the manor whenever he could spare a moment from work and studies, lingering around the outer walls of the property in the vain hope of coming up with some way to quell the hauntings.
He may not have arrived on the day this uprising first occurred, but it hardly goes unnoticed. The mansion has been looking somewhat run down for months, much to his dismay, but the newly changed state leaves him horrified. Even from the outside, the damage is apparent. Still unable to get past the zombies to the mansion proper, Thorn stands at the gate and studies the mansion in shock.

((Hmmm... plot. Catch me on AIM or email me? Shadowtricker and Shadowtricker at yahoo.com respectively. I'd been meaning to ask you a few questions regarding the mansion.))

Amidst a brewing storm, a small, cloaked figure approaches the mansion hurriedly. When she reaches the gate, she pauses, swaying a little. Holy fuck, that's some serious shit going on there. Now she really wants to know what Anna wants Fata Morgus by Arthur Tenling for. She wouldn't put it past her to try and resurrect herself. But it doesn't work like that, does it? It definitely doesn't in Courtney's world.

She hesitates, and almost decides not to leave the book. This feels wrong.

But it's Anna's book, really, or was, and ignoring polite requests from the dead is bad policy.

Why does this feel wrong?

She places the book, which is carefully wrapped in plastic in case of rain, next to the gate as promised. She turns and starts to leave, pauses, looks back. Takes a couple steps toward the book. Looks up at the mansion.
Shudders.

Leaves.
