"A Thousand Deaths"

Seeing something I didn't quite recognize in my bookmarks, I stumbled across a pretty neat short story! I have no idea when or why I bookmarked it, but it was fun to read. I thought I would share it with the few friends I have here on lj, haha. c:

Oh goodness that icon is the best ever SO MANY JOYS

It's short, but hey. It was pretty fun to read. I really enjoy the way the Author describes things.
I have no idea how to post a board game, but I can post pictures and explanations! I should have a batch of art done soon for game graphics and whatnot, so I can just dump that here. I'll pass it on to the group that we have someone who wants to see what we make, I'm sure that will motivate them to try even harder! :>

Thanks! Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs certainly deserves the title of "reaction image movie".

And as for posting up the game, just put a photo of the board in use and some of the basic rules. One of my friends made a prototype game called MythMatch. I think she did an excellent job of presenting the concept.

That's awesome that school is going well! The board game project sounds cool.

I'm enjoying my classes a lot, too. I was so excited to start school.

Ahhh, Jack London. *nostalgia* If you ever want any book recs, I have about ONE THOUSAND. And scifi is my favorite genre. Also, if you know any books or series with really well-done alien species then let me know, because they're depressingly hard to find.

This is where I'll mention my love for Clark Ashton Smith, a pulp SF/F/horror writer who started writing around the 1930s (and was friends with Lovecraft). His stories are like PURE CRACK to me thanks to Smith's ridiculously purple prose, though at the same time I enjoy his descriptions as genuinely evocative.

I'm not sure which of his stories to recommend, since he has a lot of them. But here's one where he asks the question "What if there were a meadow? And what if that meadow were pure evil?"

Just tonight he's brought me joy with this phrase alone:

Lunithi, from childhood, had obeyed implicitly and without question the ( ... )

Yes! It's slow now, but as my classes get harder I'll be working harder and making progress.

HEY did I miss something? I thought you were out of school. I feel so dumb, awwwh. ;A; What all are you doing?

I might have to take you up on the offer! As soon as I finish re reading Sun of Suns and the rest of that series, haha.

Consider that man bookmarked! A friend with lovecraft hm? That sounds glorious, ahhh.

HAH I can't wait to read these things, thanks!

It's great when classes are challenging in a way that helps you learn a lot ( ... )

Yeah! My Game Development class is more 'Learn by doing' rather than 'sit and study how to do things right the first time'. I like it. The learning style isn't working out for one of my group members though. :(

Yeah, I thought you were done with school, haha! Ah well, I know you'll do good. :> You should send a PM, if you don't mind! Did you have a main account I could harass you at?

I'm glad you liked it! I think the 5th book just came out. And unfortunately, I've never heard of ringworld. >:

You haven't? Even I've read some, and I'm one of those cave dwellers that doesn't watch/read many 'classics'. xD
