This is a rant about stupid terms in our political lexicon. In no particular order, with no particular provocation.

• judicial activism - Refers to "any court decision I don't like". All judges are humans, and therefore have opinions, and are therefore activists. Judges will make changes to public policy for as long as they have the power to do so,

This is not a political term, but "decimated" is painfully misused.

well. that's because people've stopped studying Latin, or Roman culture in general, so they don't know what it really means. They just know in some vague sense that it involves a lot of people dying, so it came to mean "massacre" only on a smaller scale.
