I'm sorry, but I wasn't aware he was missing... :D

Seriously though, I never lacked for fathers growing up. I had two - DonJon (aka John DeClese, aka Don Studebaker), who currently lives up in Lake County (playing the old man on the mountain, building his Tea House), and Paul Zimmer (aka "the Berserk"), through whom I share kinship with firehair28, and who sadly passed away almost a decade ago. I actually got to travel back east to the old Lovecraftian farm to see where he grew up and helped to see his ashes buried next to his mother in the old family graveyard plot.

I was around 8. My cousin Patric had just discovered D&D (in the little brown box) and came over one day to rope firehair28 and myself into a rather brief and uninspired game. She played a red-headed amazon warrior of some sort as I recall, and I ran a little halfling by the name of "Sam Gamgee" (my favorite LOTR character at that time). We raided a tower of some sort and didn't realy have much time to explore, but the idea grabbed me (and besides, all the cool big kids were playing it). Thus was I hooked.
