In my experience those particular lesbians (which I unfortunately agree make up the vast majority) will only date pre-bottom-op transguys. They don't tend to be the same ones who will very casually (typically as a one night innibriated stand) date a cisgendered guy. Those "slips" are usually blamed on some momentary increase in internalized homophobia or some other story masking a degree of bisexuality IMO.

But to answer your question about the 1st kind of lesbians I mentioned, pre-bottom-op transguys are seen as tickets to be "straight in the streets, queer in the sheets" and/or political "cred" in the queer "community". It's a huge double standard I'm afraid. Combine that with the fact that you're a hot femme girl...and well...femme's don't get the respect they deserve anyways. I wish the lesbian community wasn't so narrow-minded sometimes. I guess even though it's ridiculous, it's still a bit better than the gay male community which is really narrow about how guys are expected to look!
