Aaron Grey is a vampire and a trained police officer. He has abilities which he uses to compliment his trained skills and they are as follows:
Super Strength - Aaron can technically lift a truck by the fender rather easily, however throwing such an object is not possible without extreme efforts, and leverage. He does not make a habit of tossing cars, but he will use his strength to help detain powerful suspects.
Heightened Senses
- Smell - Aaron has the ability to recognize smells from prior meetings with people, or he can scent things at a crime scene that may aid in the investigation. This sense can be overpowered by foul smells, or by masking scents with something more potent.
- Hearing - He has extreme hearing which allows him to hear a man's heartbeat. He liberally applies this ability to determine when people are lying to him. He's spent years working on this technique, and successfully applies it to a few relatively chronic lying vampires. That's not to say he can't be lied to without knowing it, he most certainly can be defeated with his lie detecting.
Improved Speed - Aaron is no Flash, but his reflexes and running are a level above that of the normal, trained and fit human officer.
Fast Healing - Any injury that doesn't remove his head, or involve silver embedded in his body will heal in seconds. Examples from canon: an arm stuck in a fire; a snapped neck; multiple fractures, lacerations and injuries after being hit by a speeding car; impaling upon a pole.
Climbing - In the tradition of the Dracula novel, and as a sort of extension to his strength, Aaron has the ability to climb vertical, nearly smooth surfaces such as building walls. The action usually mimics a scrambling if the surface is sheer and smooth like steel, but even then, the speed with which he can accomplish this is uncanny.
There are also things that he is immune to, or weak against, these include:
Silver - Vampires in Aaron's world are weak to silver in the sense that a silver bullet doesn't mean instant death, but it does prevent his natural healing process and can cause extreme pain, bleeding out, and eventually death. Silver bullets to the head or heart are as lethal as they would be in a human. Any and all silver weapons/items left in the body prevent his healing abilities. He can, however, touch silver and use silver weapons/items.
Crosses, Holy water, religious paraphernalia - These have no effect on Aaron.
Sunlight - Sunlight is a minor irritation to his eyesight, but does not affect him otherwise.
Wooden stakes - It's stated that wooden stakes through the heart will not affect Aaron's form of vampire. It's assumed that while it will cause traumatic injury to the body, it is healed much in the same way a regular bullet to the heart would be. (Normal bullets to the heart are demonstrated in canon as being unable to kill a vampire.)
Heartbeat - Aaron has a heartbeat. His own lie-detecting techniques can, in fact, be turned against him if the person he's talking to has a similar ability. He's a fairly honest man most of the time, so lying requires some effort on his part, and can be detected.
He cannot protect himself against telepathic individuals or advances. Aaron has an immensely strong willpower which can make telepathic suggestion difficult, but not impossible. Aaron is strong enough to deny his blood lust better than any vampire back home, but as for mind-reading, he's an open book in that regard, as if he were simply human.
Thanks!
