I read an article today that reminded me of, well, other articles I've read. It was a woman asking about, as a Christian, whether or not she should marry, or even date, a non-Christian. If you're like me, maybe this doesn't seem like a very big issue. People of different faiths (or substrains of faith, or moral codes, or whatever) get married ( Read more... )

Yeah. I've, too, have met my fair share of asshole atheists who felt that no good could come from the Bible. ("'Blessed are the meek?' Fuck that.") Likewise I've met a number of people who assumed, because they know I regularly attend church, that I'm easily offended by bawdy jokes or cuss words. Thing is, I don't give a damn. But most of those people were under 18, and so I've written off a number of them as dumb teenagers. The mature people I've met tend to be a little better about it, and, if they feel that way, at least have the tact to not say it to my face. But, again, maybe I've just been lucky.
