when i think of singularity... della_quinn April 3 2011, 23:11:58 UTC
...i think of polarization and symmetry breaking. 'singularity' is the term used in biology to describe a biological process in which one and only one thing is supposed to happen. for example, budding yeast (brewer's yeast, or baker's yeast) are little ovoid cells. they divide by budding off each other. but only one bud forms per cell cycle. singularity.
