"When once you have tasted flight,

you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." (Leo. DaVinci, probably apocryphal)

We had a reporter at EAA Chapter 635's Young Eagles event yesterday. Here's her story. I also tried out the cardstock glider I designed with the kids -- a number of them flew well.

This reminds me: Ever since Kevin took the little airplane ride when he was three, he has been interested in having another ride and learning more about flying. Do you know if there is a Young Eagles chapter at Ann Arbor or Willow Run airports? How would I find out?

He does have some red/green colorblindness. I know this means his fighter-pilot career is over before it starts, but what about regular flying? He can tell the colors apart - he just sees them as shades of the same color, which means flunking the dots charts, and sometimes coming down with interesting clothing combinations.

It's going to be challenging enough teaching Greg to drive a car; I'm not going to even suggest this to him. If he brings it up, that will be a different story.
