One of those little adminstrative details that incoming freshmen (freshpeople?) have to deal with is documenting that you've Had Your Shots. Normally, this is not a big deal, since you're just out of high school, and your school also required these things and keeps track of it ( Read more... )

I expect if we could work out which clinic it was, in which state (we'd moved from California to Minnesota about that time), they'd have a record of the shots. It's just easier at this point to redo the shots. Of course, I decided that without factoring in that "No Child Left To Have A Summer" has caused a significant expansion of both ends of the school year...

Been there, done that. I had to get the third in a series, because mom's records indicated I never had. Steph was at Urgent Care last night (continuing foot saga), and described the same kids there.

There is recent data to suggest that parts (I don't recall which parts) of the MMR do not provide permanent protection, in any case.

Not that that matters, really, since what your really needed was the proof, not the protetction (since neither M, M, or R are particularly life-threatening as an adult).

I had to get mine when I was at UIUC taking non-degree because I had the "wrong type" of shots (live instead of MMR)
