It seems to me that there is an abundance of reasonably priced drugs and prostitutes operating in the good old USA. For something that is Illegal in this society they certainly seem to thrive

I was reading up on contemporary terrorism networks, and it turns out that a large number of the big players when it comes to trafficking are indeed terrorist groups. It provides steady income for long-term financing, and since most of these organizations operate out of weak or failing states, their governments are inept to stop them. Example, the opium production in Afghanistan.

Also, drugs and prostitution are always going to be a tricky political situation. No politician will ever speak up for the legalization of _____ because it would be political suicide. I think that's more of why politicans look the other way, not because they really want drugs to stay on the street. Basically, any strong move in either direction will lose a big voting bloc, and CNN or Fox News (depending on the polarity of the action) will tear said politician to shreds.

One more thing, please tell me the name grey_lizard is not a reference to your penis. If it is, I reccommend penicilin.
