One of these days I gotta learn how to make vids. The world needs more Tron vids, specifically a badass Clu video to the tune of Chesney Hawkes' I Am the One and Only...

Also, when are the movie studios going to figure out that people want to be able to buy the DVD the day they see the movie? Preferably on the way out of the movie? Making a vid ( Read more... )

Seriously. I swear, all it does is encourage piracy. I know a dozen people who pirated Tron Classic and several more who got both that and New Tron because they saw that it was up when they went to get Tron Classic. I would have bought a set if they had been available, but nooo, denied, apparently.

It is too bad because I want Tron icons so, so badly, but the trailer shots aren't enough to icon and the pirated version was clearly shot from a camcorder, possibly of the 3D version.

Yeah, the fact that the original Tron wasn't out on DVD in time for the sequel is really inexplicable. It's as if Disney doesn't like free money!

I also downloaded Tron Classic (sorry, Walt... Mom probably still has the tape somewhere anyway), and would have d/led the new one as well, if the quality was better. Which it will be, just as soon as someone gets their hands on a screener... probably as much as a month before the DVD actually comes out, thus also encouraging piracy. :P

It's the cirrrrrrrcle... of liiiiife!

Funny how the music companies figured out the people-want-it-cheap-and-now equation (or Amazon and Apple figured it out for them), but the movie folks are still stuck in distribution patterns which weren't making sense five years ago. It's almost adorable, in a pathetic sort of way, like watching a two-legged hamster try to run on a wheel.

edit: TRON ICON YEY
