I commented somewhere else that if John McCain were actually running he'd get my (non-existent) vote. And he _was_ running up until the summer. But because we now have Karl Rove's Manchurian candidate instead, I'm running far away...

re: mccain - i'll agree with you on that one john. the one i've seen running against obama scares the beejeebuz out of me to the point i don't even recognize him. disappointment just begins to express my emotions towards his candidacy...shock, frustration, and exponentially stronger words come to mind

In 2000 I would have actually considered voting for McCain. He seemed like the first Republican I had ever seen who was actually talking straight to the public. And then, I remember very distinctly, around the time of the 2004 GOP convention, seeing him speak and saying to myself "he's either been taken to the woodshed, given a lobotomy or kidnapped by aliens, because I have NO IDEA who that guy is" And "that guy" has been around ever since. Hes really creepy too. I keep expecting him at any moment to snap like Colin Clive as Dr Frankenstein. "HA HA HA! They said I was mad...MAD!! But it's alive!! It's Alive!! My Campaign is ALIVE!!!"
