Those who have attended in the past know that if you bought a membership and couldn't attend, you could transfer it to someone else and they would just have to pay a $20 transfer fee at the door.

They aren't doing that anymore.  No, the fee didn't go up.  Badges are now NON-TRANSFERABLE.  Period.  D*C has not publicized this despite LJ and social

To bee fair, after a day of arguing someone finally did change the Dragoncon store to say the badges are non transferable. I don't think its an unreasonable policy either but it did need to be announced.

Given that the transferability was one of the reasons a lot of people bought theirs early, I can't understand why they wouldn't publish it widely. It might hurt early sales a little, but the at-the-door price should more than make up for that.
