Interesting; I've wondered a couple of the same things myself.

Because of questions like that (and that fact that there is almost always at least 1 politician of a different party affiliation that I want to vote for) I never straight party vote.

the voting system in oregon IS nice. i really like the mail in ballots and the pamphlet they send ouit.

i don't understand why other states are too dense to realize that the way this information is disseminated is REALLY helpful! It just makes plain fucking sense.
