If you are going to start running in VFFs you need to ease into it. The VFFs force you to run/walk on the balls of your feet which works the calves. The next day your calves will be screaming.
I am planning to work my way up to being able to run in them. I think that running is a good goal, but I haven't been able to run for a very long time...
Ironically, when I started running-as-therapy after my knee surgery, my PT asked me why I was running "on my toes". Can I blame my transition to barefoot to build my arches up at 12 for the weird running style? ;)
