library, oh how I love thee...

Except this library has none of the books I'm looking for. Grrr.

I still haven't found a job. I even asked at the Exxon station down the road. Dad said he can probably talk to some people when he gets here and get me hired somewhere. Which is kinda cool, but I wanted to be able to get hired on my own merit, not because I'm "Kenny's daughter."

I went to Radford and JMU this past weekend and had so much fun! I hung out with Whitney and we went to dinner at this tiny diner called Joe's. Awesome milkshakes. And tots. "Dude! Gimme some of your tots!" =P Whitney wasn't feeling too great, so we didn't participate in one of Radford's infamous "Thirsty Thursdays". On Friday I got up and got ready to go to her theater class with her, but it had been cancelled! Bummer. Whitney had a dance audition on Saturday for Busch Gardens, and one of her friends was going to audition, too, so she came with us. We left on Friday around two and headed up 81 to JMU, where Whitney was going to drop me off to spend the night with Briley. FOUR AND A HALF HOURS LATER, we finally got to JMU. (should've only taken 2 1/2 hours). We must've passed five or six accidents. Whitney and her (crazy) friend Lydia went on up to Shenandoah and I trucked my stuff up to Briley's room and said hi to her Guiding Eyes dog, T.J. And Briley, too. Hahaha. We went to dinner at some of her friends' place off campus; they had set up a HUGE Thanksgiving dinner and there were about thirty people crammed into this tiny house. It was soooo much fun. All of her friends are super friendly. After dinner Briley and some of the other girls there (who are in an all-girls Christian a capella group called Into Hymn) started singing. Oh. Wow. They are amazing. And when Briley sang "He Lives in Me" I had shivers up and down my back. I almost started crying. If you EVER have the chance to hear Into Hymn perform (or hear Briley sing) - GO.

Briley had bought movie tickets for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire earlier in the week, so we planned to go see that after the Thanksgiving dinner. I almost didn't go--everyone was singing and having so much fun and I didn't want to leave. I was so happy to be around really friendly, awesome people. I am trying to communicate how I felt and I just can't. Argh.

Anyway, finally we tore ourselves away and got a ride back to campus, where we then met Briley's crazy ex-roommate, Monica. It was really funny because we were late, Monica's car was parked across campus, and we had to run for it. Please picture three girls sprinting across sidewalks and roads in the dark, one of them yelling "F***" every 15 seconds (Monica, haha), Briley holding on to my arm for dear life, the two of us laughing, gasping for breath, and egging Monica on. It was great. After an intense car ride we made it to the theater and found seats in the very front because it was PACKED. The movie was pretty good (after I got used to how different everything was) and I liked it.

After we left the theater we descended upon a 7-11 to satisfy hot-beverage cravings. Briley got hot chocolate, which I later ended up drinking (thanks!) and we definitely gave the poor cashier the impression we were high. It was so much fun. We went back to Briley's room and listened to music and talked until we all kinda faded... Then Monica went back to her room and I crashed on the couch (we had to turn the blanket over because of the dog hairs--silly TJ).

In the morning we just bummed around till Whitney called and said she was 45 minutes away. I added all of the girls I'd met last night on Facebook (ahhh, I'm such a stalker) but I didn't know when I'd get on a computer again, soo... whatever. I said bye to Briley and then Whitney and I started back to Wytheville. This time it only took 2 1/2 hours. We couldn't find a Taco Bell, so we made do with Wendy's. It was fun. I drove back because she was tired of all the driving. It was nice to drive my car again, lol. Oma's car is cool because it can accelerate like mad, but it's 15 years old and roughly the size of a small whale. Plus I look kind of dorky trying to dance to Akon in her silver box-car. I can't remember what kind of car it is to save my life.

So... we got back around 4:15 on Saturday. Whitney had planned to eat dinner at Oma's and then keep going to Burnsville (she's spending a few days there until the whole family comes up on Thursday for Thanksgiving). So we had dinner at 4:45. Whitney and I had eaten at Wendy's at like 1:30. Oma gets upset if you don't eat a healthy amount of food, so I had to clear my plate... Oh, man. I have never wanted to throw up after eating so much in my life. I really thought about it. Plus there's the whole "You are eating too much all the time and how are you going to lose all the weight you've gained" mindset... agh. Anyway, I felt gross. Bummed around after Whitney left, stayed up too late, got caught by Oma, which makes me feel like dirt... went to bed.

Sunday morning I got up early, drove with Oma out to this random building to pick up a box of oranges she'd ordered, dropped her off at church, and drove to Blacksburg to hear Into Hymn perform at Blacksburg Baptist. I didn't get lost at all! Yay! They were amazing again, and the preaching was good, too. Made me think about some things I still struggle with... After church I said bye to Briley and got gas and then randomly went to a Taco Bell down the street--and Briley was there with her friends! Ha, I felt like a stalker. After lunch I got lost for like ten minutes, then eventually turned around and ended up back on 81, and drove back to Oma's with only a few near-death experiences.

When I got back I called a new friend, Anna, and she came over and we watched The Butterfly Effect, which was kinda creepy but interesting. Then she went home and I watched a really dumb CBS movie about a magical snowstorm because Poppy Montgomery was in it. Haha. The cute former-lab-tech-turned-field-agent from CSI, Greg, was in it, too. He and Mary Tyler Moore had a funny storyline going on. After that, I wrote a letter and went to bed.

Not too exciting, but I updated. Go me.
Maybe next time I'll say something about how I really feel, instead of talking about stupid movies...

right.
