Bwahaha. "We need to get you better toys." Sorry, Mer, but no matter how many amazing educational toys you get Zola, she'll always prefer the formula can. That's just how babies are. :)

Going back to read the rest, but I wanted to jot that down before I forgot. ;)

So true. It doesn't stop with babies; my favorite toys as a kid were cardboard boxes. I had a whole room full of toys but nothing beat a good cardboard box.

It is SO complicated, isn't it? My post-finale fic made me realize that too. I can't even deal with all of it. The writers are gonna have to pull out all the stops...

I can't deal with all of it either; I'm realizing that the more I get into it. I can't make it longer than 4-5 parts because of scheduling and time commitments in my real life, and therefore, something's gotta give. This is a Mer/Der fic at it's core, so as much as I hoped to deal with peripheral characters too, I don't know how much of that can realistically happen. Not that I wouldn't love reading Mer/Alex, Mer/Cristina, Mer/Richard if somebody wanted to write one!

I try not to have high expectations for the show itself because, in my experience, that rarely works out well. However, I am so excited for your fic!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and leave feedback! I'm only 23 so no kids of my own are planned for a long time! I have been babysitting for about 10-12 years though, so I have a decent amount of experience with babies. I'm glad that you think it's realistic, because babysitting can only get you so far. I get to give the kids back when I'm done with them ( ... )

Another wonderful update! Thank you for writing the aftermath of the trial too, especially the legal end, which I suspect we'll never get to see on the show, if the past is any indication. It's great to see Meredith tackling motherhood, too. Things aren't perfect, but I love that she and Derek are figuring everything out for Zola. They're already such good parents. :') The ending made me tear up, too! I just want to hug Zola and never let her go! Haha. Looking forward to more of this! :)

Thanks so much for reading and leaving feedback! I really appreciate it! I want everything to be covered, but then again, it could have been the Meredith and Derek hour for the past 7 seasons and I would have been fine with that! I think the thing with Meredith is that she is, generally speaking, a lot more capable than she thinks she is. I think that's true for her career, her friendships, her relationship, and now her parenting skills. I am excited for S8 primarily for that reason!

I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate this. I love the details you go in to, like mentioning that Zola has already had spinal surgery and brain surgery. The reason I say that is because I have Spina Bifida, the condition Zola has. Mine is from the waist down, so no walking, standing, and the various things that go with it. I also have Hydrocephalus so needed a shunt, hence the brain surgery. The spinal surgery is necessary, as I'm sure you know, to close up the wound where the damage to the spine occurs. It's this damage that decides how disabled a person with Spina Bifida is, the higher it is the worse they are. In any case the ability to walk, stand etc, is limited ( ... )

Wow, thank you so much for your review! I'm doing a lot of research on spina bifida but I do have fears that I'm not getting it right. I'm glad that you, as someone who has spina bifida, are happy with the story so far. It will definitely feature prominently in parts 3 and 4 ( ... )
