This fic just keeps getting better! I love the Mer/Izzie phone call. Like you wrote, it seems weird that Izzie hasn't met Zola, given how close Mer and Izzie once were. It actually makes me sad. :( I like to think that they keep in touch, and that Izzie at least knows about Zola, you know?

And YAY, baby girl! Obviously, it's a win-win either way, but now they get to have 2 little princesses! Zola is so sweet with all of her baby sister questions. I'm so hoping we get to see family scenes like this on Grey's in the very near future. I really miss seeing Zozo! Anyway, I enjoyed this so much! Looking forward to part 3! :)

Thanks so much! I took a risk with the Izzie thing since she's a pretty polarizing character, but I think that Meredith really did love her and consider her part of her family. Even though I don't see how they could possibly be as close as they once were, that love doesn't go away.

And yes, a baby sister! Either way, I'll be happy, but I think the little sister thing is too huge to ignore. New promo pics indicate that Zozo will be back soon, and I can't wait. More to come here soon!

I'm a bad, bad reader for not leaving a comment earlier. You've already posted part 3. So... I loved that Meredith called Izzie, because she really is the only one how might understand Meredith's feeling about the money. And I'm happy she told Izzie about the pregnancy as well. Your Zola is such a cute girl and that makes me miss her on the show even more. But I guess it's easier to write a little girl than to have her act and do stuff on a TV set :-)
Anyway, I really love the way you are writing her, just like I loved Emily in your previous story.

I'm glad you liked that she called Izzie because I realize that Izzie is a pretty polarizing character, but honestly, it just felt right. They really did love each other, and even though Izzie isn't there anymore, I don't think that it would go away. Meredith is the one who begged her to stay.

And yes, I'm hoping for some great Zola scenes in the second half of the season, but I think you're right. It's probably easier for me to write them than to get a real toddler to pretend to be Zola.
