austin, ima happy for you and ima let you finish, but breakfast is the most important meal of the day. OF THE WHOLE DAY!!

Portland, by contrast, is obsessed with breakfast and brunch. We have at least two places in town that serve nothing but biscuits with toppings (gravy, sausage, etc), a growing fleet of food carts that serve nothing but waffles wrapped around a variety of fillings (maple syrup, sausage, etc), and a host of establishments that only serve breakfast and close at 3 in the afternoon. We're also obsessed with happy hour food specials, and with late-night food carts serving things like Belgian fries or grilled cheese. Essentially, if a thing is best eaten while the eater is either drunk or hungover, we're obsessed with it.
