Well, the ending with Marcus taking on John's face does exist, but apparently it ended with him shooting all the resistance members in the room and on the ol' red eye.

Other thing that apparently is confirmed is that the original script didn't have John Conner until the third act, but Bale didn't like the smaller role and was rewriting the script on location... I have to agree that the movie could have been better had there been less John Conner.

Apart from that, it was a satisfying action flick, and I loved the T800 cameo, go John Candy :)

Hrm. I don't know. I may be using Hollywood exec logic here, but wouldn't killing john be kind of like a punch in the face, given that we've spent three movies and two seasons of tv defending him?

Which is exactly why it would be awesome and a real twist to the story unlike the crap we usually get presented as "twists".

Besides he had already knocked up Kate, so if 3 movies later they want to make him human again its easy enough to be John Connor Jr.

Or to use a recent example, Star Trek was awesome because they blew up Vulcan not because Kirk saved the day.

For a world where the machines supposedly rule and the humans are small amounts of resistance. The machines have like a tiny part of the US and some unknown quantity of the world....

Also for a world that has been nuked to shit the resistance has way to much firepower at its command. How the hell do they keep up supply on those jets and copters...
