FLOOD REPORT etc

Sep 27, 2009 15:48

Since I've been amassing information about the flood caused by Ondoy today, I thought I should put them all here.

Sources? Sources are you guys. These are mostly re-posts from plurk/facebook/other LJs.

If you have any links you'd like to share or any random piece of helpful information then please feel free to comment and I'll put them up on the post.

HIATUS: October 01, 2009
I have a school project to attend to and will be unable to update this post.

BACK. OH LOOK TYPHOON PEPENG. AHAHAHAHAHAHA. SHIT THIS IS DEPRESSING.

DISCLAIMER: I can't verify how true these scandalous pics about our politicians/actors/fellowmen are. Let's leave it at that. Believe what you want to believe.

TIDBITS:
- Total Rainfall: 410 milliliters (in one day!)
- Death Toll: 240
- Missing: 32 ++++
- Stay away from Marikina as much as possible. They're planning to release some water from the dam to wash away the mud. RUMOR.
- Bar Exam (everywhere) and Teacher's License Exam (Metro Manila and Rizal area) are suspended.
- Asphalt in Philcoa cracked. (HAHAHA good luck to me.)
- UP's Sunken Garden is sunken. So what's new?
- UST (the university itself) is still flooded.
- Hello rat flu bubonic plague Leptospirosis!

TIPS:
- Your wet appliances might (keyword being might) still work if you let them dry first. And provided that it's wet with water. IDK about pee and other substances.
- If your car was submerged in water DO NOT try to start your car! Have it towed! Change the oil, drain all the water from the engine. Drain gas tank (as water may have gotten in)... dry spark plugs, dry up the computer box first. You will wreck the engine if you force-start it.
- Emergency Supply Kit (note: this link is from America and may include some stuff we don't usually need like dust masks and exclude stuff that we Filipinos need.)
- this just in from the World Youth Alliance (whom I did not know existed)

HOW ARE THEY DOING?

UPDATE: Boss Bry made us a wiki. (I'm keeping the updates on UP AME there so we don't get redundant posts like having Ryan in there twice.) Go here if you're looking for a member/ alumni/ known associate of UP AME. Anyone can update it. Thanks, boss!

I'm is doing fine, as you can clearly see.
Mia (miir) is doing fine. Her house is not flooded at all. There is flood outside though. But now they have food again. \o/
Erie (elraine)'s house got flooded, the first floor anyway. She stayed at a hotel that had free porn channels. Her PC survived the flood.
Kaze (starkissed) had a stressful adventure but is doing better now.
People in Laguna are safe, but it flooded mud in Calamba again. This might not hold true for people that live near the Bay, but we're safe here near our mountains

plurks asking how you're doing (re-assure us that you're still alive): mine, mine version 2.0, P-chan's: AME locked
