Like Meredith, let’s not forget that big shadow she’s operating under. It’s hard to care, when a person has so much going for them, and still messes everything up.
You never thought she was a romantic. And if she was, you thought she’d have the decency to be ironic about it.
But she’s needy. Worse, she needs you.
It was only a party. If you hadn’t woken up draped over one another, you doubt she’d have been sober enough to remember. And you weren’t the only one, that night. Perfect house in a mess, hung-over for her career-altering meeting.
Whatever happened, it stopped being easy. It sprouted leaves, grew into some strange construction, resembling us.
You just call it “Our problem.” And wish one of you had the guts to end it.
