Oh, this is actually really, really good. I don't see much in the way of Alex/Izzie fics that keep to character anymore -- but this is a real gem, not to mention a great read.

The blood on her hands as a metaphor is excellent, and that is so very like her to want to save that bird.

Anyway, I really loved loved loved this. I'm a big fan of Alex/Izzy so I was quite glad to see a story of that pairing after I read your Draco/Hermione stories.

They're both in character, which I how I love them. And the metaphor of the blood on her hands.. oh gosh, that killed me. This is so absolutely beautiful.

She smiles, leans in and softly kisses the side of his mouth.

Izzie sleeps in his room that night, and every night after.

Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. :)
