[Community Post] Poll: Icons/Graphics - Take Two
Thank you to all who voted in the last poll. The results are in! :)
Full time community moderation won out (though by very little) so this will continue on for the time being. We may reconsider this in the future. For a variety of reasons I'll soon be looking into adding another moderator or two to the community to help make sure posts get approved as quickly as possible. I'll make a post later in the week with information on how to apply to be a moderator so if you're interested keep an eye out for it.
The icons/graphics question of the poll has led us to another poll. While allowing icons/graphics won out by over 50 percent of the votes we feel that enough people were against it for us to let everyone have one more say in it. No, this isn't a repeat of the last poll. There is no option in this poll to say no to icons/graphics being posted. There were enough members who voted yes to allow them for us to not put that up for debate again. This poll is all about how they will be posted. There are two options in this poll that are detailed under the cut. We feel one is a good compromise, but it is up to you to decide what goes into play. If you have a preference about icons/graphics being posted here it is important that you vote because whatever wins will be what is done.
Please read through the two options before voting in the poll. The results of this poll will be put into motion when the poll is closed. This poll will most likely only run until Wednesday sometime unless the results are close. If the results are close it will continue on for a few more days.
Option One:
- Allow icons & graphic posts to be posted directly to this community. This is currently what is allowed.
- The following will be strictly enforced (and the rules modified as neccessary): All wallpapers/layouts/graphics over 250x250 pixels must be under a LJ-cut. Thumbnail versions linking to the real version can be posted without a LJ-cut. Posts may only have 3 icons (or thumbnails) outside a LJ-cut. Anything more must be placed under a LJ-cut. Any entries posted directly to this community with icons/graphics not related to GA will be rejected (This does not count icon posts that link to entries that feature icons that aren't GA related. This is only for entries where the icons are posted IN this community).
Option Two:
- Have a separate community where all icons & graphics should be posted.
- The new community would be open to everyone to join & post. The community would not be on full time moderation, posts will be allowed as they are made (any that break the rules will be deleted when seen by a moderator). The only posts allowed would be that of icons/graphics/layouts. No community promotions, no GA discussion. You'll be required to join to be able to post. However, all posts in the new community would be public so those who don't wish to join would be able to view the entries (fake cuts may lead to locked posts in other journals).
- Once a week (on a chosen day) a moderator would go through the posts at the media community and make a post in THIS community with info & links directly to those entries. The post would look something like the community promo posts we do. An example of what we would post is below. As this is an example the link goes back to this community not to any icon post.

Graphics
01. 1 wallpaper by exampleuser featuring Alex & Izzie.
- This option will allow for the icons/graphics posts still to be promoted in this community. It will allow those who are against icons/graphics being added here to not have to scroll past the entries of them and those who want to be able to access them from here to be able to still (just in a new way). This will also make it simple to locate what icons you wish to view without having to open each icon post (example: if you aren't a fan of Addison and one icon post only features icons of her you can avoid viewing it). We currently simply tag all icons posts in this community with "icons".

Oh, and if you haven't seen it: The community now has a new layout up. There's a few things I still need to edit but it is basically done. I'm not sure if it works correctly for everyone so if there's an error with it please let me know. :)
