ffff I always post most frequently when drowning in work

yesterday: went thrifting / Halloween-costume-shopping with house-mates. there I found a long-sleeved polka-dot blouse with a peter pan collar that makes me look like a grandma. I like most things that make me look like a grandma (such as giant cardigans), especially if that grandma was a stylin' lady from the '50s.

lol "fashion pose"

these days, this is actually how I look on a regular, non-field basis: skirts / dresses, tights, boots. when the urge to dress like a secretary / librarian isn't as strong, this switches to a fitted sweater / oversized button-up, black skinny jeans, and black oxfords. in the field, though, the situation becomes more utilitarian: field hat, a shirt or two, hoodie, waterproof jacket, scratched-up jeans, waterproof hiking boots, sometimes even waders that make everyone look like Teletubbies (as in the previous post). right now I'm looking for a good plaid flannel shirt so that I can be a Real Field Ecologist, 'cause supposedly this is one of the criteria for becoming a Real Field Ecologist: looking like a rugged lumberjack. (also, flannel shirts are practical and warm, especially for the upcoming winter.)

anyhow, yesterday we also found suitable Halloween costumes, mostly in the kids' section. Cat will be a peacock. Eytan will be Bunicula. I will be a sparkly pink unicorn!!!!!!!!!!
