Technological kick in the nuts

The only computer at home is a 266MHz running on windows 98 ver. 1. The blue screen of death was nostalgic at first, but quickly wears down the patience and equates to the aforementioned title. Just starting up the computer sometimes crashes it, it's like a roll of the dice everytime I hit the power button. I can't download any new programs either
