I need computer help!!!!

Can one of my computer savvy friends out there in cyber space help me!?

I bought the game Empire: Total War at Direct2Drive, wonderful download time, got the whole thing in like half an hour. But every time I go to install the game, it gets to the "Installing System Components...please wait" box, another box pops up that says "Microsoft C++ 2005

I'm getting the same thing with Empire Total War, but using steam, not Direct2Drive.

Did you figure out a fix?
