When I dress well for work, and people say "you look good!", I wonder if they mean "you look good compared to how you usually do", or if they mean that I just look good compared to other people. I'm having a low self-esteem day and (I should probably post this as private, but I dont think many people read this so screw it) I know it's unrealistic,

i lie to myself when i tell me that i don't care what other people think about me, too.
Yes, it is your low self-esteem-day psyche talking. No, you shouldn't beat yourself up over it! You are only human. A female human, with estrogen coursing through your veins. A couple of insecure days every once in a while are bound to happen.
