If you open your mind for me

Who: Aadi and whoever finds her
Where: City Park, near her sculpture
When: Right about now
Warnings: Let's hope not!

Aadi had always thought that deresolution, that dying, would hurt more, and maybe if it had happened another way it might have. But after the initial impact everything seemed muffled and distant, and she realized that she'd been trapped beneath one of her sculptures. Along with that realization she also realized that some part of it must have cut off connection to her central processors, because she couldn't move.

There was no pain, just a sudden feeling of weightlessness and it wasn't until the translucent front window-wall (the one that afforded her a view of the poisoned Sea) slid away at an angle, shearing off sharply, that she realized the weightless feeling was because the tower was collapsing. But it wasn't just the tower, it was the whole of Arija City falling down all around them, a concentrated attack, that was all it could be.
She wailed, high and wordless and despairing. The sound was lost in the cacophony of Arija city crumbling, just added to the noise all around her.

She never felt the impact, the feeling of weightlessness just went on and on.

Gravity came back suddenly and she landed with a solid impact. It took her a long moment to realize that she could move again, levering herself over onto her side, and then finally swinging around upright, blinking and taking in her surroundings, she was at the foot of her sculpture, the one that was installed at the park. And it was in the park, but everything was different, the park seemed lighter, and the propaganda posters were gone, all of them, in their place were colorful banners or nothing at all except the sloping, natural curve of the walls. It looked the way it had when the piece was first installed, in other words.

It was too much to process all at once and she just drew her knees to her chest, resting her brow against them and trying to bring her breathing around to something more stable and less gasping, though it was difficult, given the wash of fear that overtook her, and the surge of despair, residual emotional impulses from her death. She curled herself up smaller, weeping.
