The area where two major streets met and redivided was called, from Flynn's first maps, simply City Park. Yori remembered those days, and the spirited discussion of what a park was and why a city might want one when there were more efficient uses for a centrally located plaza, shortened by Flynn's airy command to work it out themselves.
But a flat, open area was really not space-efficient enough for the interest the concept drew, and before Flynn's next visit the "park" had become an open and multi-level warren of curving ramps and floors, all gently lit and shielded with appropriate works of art. Branching fractals in blues and purples, geometrics in green and red, carefully arranged in soothing color combinations...Yori had contributed to several of the designs herself. A program could walk for a millicycle and feel some sense of privacy, even if a thousand others shared the space.
Flynn had said, "I'm not sure it's a park, but it's beautiful," and told the artistically inclined programs to carry on.
The park had endured Clu's reign repurposed almost as thoroughly as any program, tainted with holos of Clu on every curve that said things like Seek perfection at all times! and With security comes peace! Yori had taken considerable pleasure in helping to tear out and derez every last one, in the process of repairing battle damage and neglect.
The park had also become, by default, something of a neighborhood headquarters, newcomers and old residents meeting to work out minor problems or trade repair services.
Being here reminded Yori of Tron, of course--times they had come together, times she had discussed some new design idea for the park. There was really nothing that did not remind her of Tron, her Tron, status still unknown.
But she did not come to remember. Programs had begun to expect Yori to be here, and she could understand their reluctance to contact her without meeting and judging first. City Park was a good place for such encounters, with plenty of escape routes including easy access to nearby rooftops.
Yori appreciated that as much as any skittish program.
((OOC: Realized I didn't actually have an intro post as such. :) This will remain open, as Yori visits the place pretty regularly. Feel free to come introduce yourself--or reintroduce yourself, or catch up on news!))
