and I love this one:

Jareth will have to write:

I will stop quoting the Marquis de Sade in my daily mutterings

Now that that's outta my system, I should probably let everyone know the following:
I AM ALIVE!
Now, that was my lovely PSA, I'll follow it up with another. I DESPISE OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS! Not to mention the fact that I disbelieve that most federal officials are actually elected at this point even though they claim to be... most of the time. I've noticed some corrolations as well. Now yes yes, these are far more political than I normally am in my journal, but I feel it nessecary to grumble and gripe at the moment and voice my dissatisfaction with said officials. especially the executive branch of the US government, but has anyone noticed recently that every time... EVERY time we THINK about referring Iran to the UN security council again, that oil prices are jumping? This is overall for the world as other people have noticed the same relation that I have but my basic statement is this: Does OPEC really think that raising prices and cutting production will stop the US from referring one of your friends? No. It just pisses us off. I've heard more genocidal comments recently than I have in a long time. the majorty of people don't support these beliefs, but the majority are silent. My belief at this point (because honestly the fact that it's almost to the point price wise that I can't even afford to work)is we need to cut the financial legs out from under the middle east. I don't care about their oil, I don't care about their governments. I think they have a right to their culture, I wouldn't try to deny that to them... but I think we have a right to ours too. Am I sounding a little xenophobic here? not really. I'm not afraid of other cultures or other people, quite the reverse. I have very much a live and let live mentality. But this has gotten rediculous. Yes, I know we still have oil barrons here in the US, but when you consider the US strategic oil reserve gets the vast majority of the US oil supply as well as the number of oil fields here in the US that have been capped are considered, we're held currently in a strangle-hold of other nations if we want to stay effective in transportation. I HATE agreeing with Bush (who is an oil barron to an extent in his own right) but we need to get away from our addiction to oil. We need alternative fuel sources. More importintly we need to redesign our infrastructure. We're not set up for an immediate change off of oil. We have alternate fuel sources developed, but getting them into circulation and into vehicles is what's killing us on this. Do I know how to do this quickly? No, I don't. It's not my field or experience. I don't know distrobution, but I know it can be done. I know people are thinking about it, but I know it also should be far more of a priority than it is. ::shrugs:: I dunno, maybe I'm just a pissed off asshole. You can try to judge that in your own time. but don't expect me to give too much of a damn.
