Wow, I thought this was really cool. (Got me to go over to Wikipedia, as I always do with preliminary research, and look up skinheads to learn more.) I wonder if you'd be able to tell me more, or point me in the direction of learning more. (I'm a secret popculture history geek. Sub-/counter-cultures being my personal favorites.)
Also, I really liked your focus on stereotypes, and the frustrating undercurrent of the alternative people being just as inclined to abuse them as are the more clean-cut types despite their whining about them. (My nerdy friends do this and it frustrates me.)

What I'm trying to say: Lovely, well-crafted story with good ideas. And please, tell me more? Haha.

Oh maaan, I can talk about Skinheads all day. Thank you so much for your interest!! Firstly it's important to realize that "traditional" skins (in England) were originally influenced by Jamaican Rude Boys, style, attitude, and music. Skinheads, even non racist ones, are definitely known for being tough and getting into fights but that has more to do with the fact that is was a youth subculture at first and they were working class kids (interpret that how you like). Hence the whole bovver boy aspect. Also and perhaps ironically, skins are very interested in looking sharp, wearing the right clothes to distinguish themselves in their surrounding relative poverty. In the past (and still today somewhat) this meant wearing very specific types of clothing and brands. Sometime in the 80's or w/e kids got "recruited" to the Evil of nazi-ness and crap. Unfortunately that is the stereotype that prevails, but all over the world there are plenty of people who still identify with the skinhead image and music and are Not nazis. Music is a big deal ( ... )

Quite the opposite, in fact! It's awesome! I'm a total culture geek. Music, clothing, attitude, if I haven't heard about it I want to know more. Especially the punks and the post-punks. They're my favorites. c:
Thank you so much! (I would love to hear more, I just don't know if this is the place for it. Haha.)

Happy to be of assistance. I guess one last thing I'll say is...I only briefly mentioned O.Children in the fic but I'm completely obsessed and any chance I get to encourage people to listen to them...If you felt like it, I think these two songs are the best (though it took me a few listens to really love the album):

I LOVE this!!!

It refreshing to read about one of my fave couples being different. I dress differently and always feel weirdly out of place with my best friend, but this has given me hope :D

Thank you so much

My God, this is so cool. You've really got a spark of originality going on here, which is hard to do with fic, I've noticed. I like it! :D
