Hi... Quick question asimplesecret October 4 2006, 00:05:50 UTC
Can I ask a quick question? What did you look for in a midwife? Did you interview many before you decided on just one?! I am just curious. I just found out that I am 5 weeks.. ANd i am leaning more towards using a midwife the a regualr OB/GYN. I am new to this.... Thanks for any information you can give me.. :O) Have a nice day!

Well I didn't really get to pick her seeing as how there is only one midwifery group near me. But if I didn't like who I got there are really nice about changing. It's all about your comfort for them. The offices are nicer (more cozy), and i find their services a lot more centered around you.

When I thought i was in labour with my first daughter my midwife came all the way out to my house at 2:30 in the morning. Then she stayed with me until I feel asleep again. You can see why I like them. I just find midwives are more personal.

Your time with them is all about how you feel and answering all your questions. I had a doctor for my first born and it wasn't even half the enjoyable experience as having a midwife. I strongly recomend them.

Good luck with your new pregnancy. ^.^
