We just had a bunch of folks forced into retirement and some layoffs in other divisions to "correct size" our workforce. The result has actually been some openings as they look to fill holes left by the experienced staff that had 30+ years in most cases. Did you pass the PE yet to go with the degree and are you going to be picky about "where" you work or can you make the jump to a new locale for a job? We've got some good openings up in Corvalis, OR and I know we're looking for a mid level (preffered) I&C engineer in the office here in Redding since we've had something of an exodus of folks that didn't like the "right size" mantra. Hell we've even got an I&C intern position which usually leads to hiring, but I thought you already had job experience proper. The company did help pay for my move too, but it was under the premise that I stay for two years or else I have to pay it back in full, including what taxes took out from me.
