i think you're missing out on the possibility that the six-pack of heineken may have just turned into a five-pack of heineken. did you check to see if there was anything in his other hand?

Nope. Both hands were empty. It was a bit chilly and overcast. He was walking near Treat Blvd near Pleasant Hill BART.

pleasant hill, hmm? did you have the bart whisperer, for that trip? that could explain everything. maybe he knows soemthing about pleasant hill that you don't. something sinister.

Was it warm yesterday? Maybe they were cold and he was sweaty, so was hugging them to cool off. That's really funny.

A couple of other theories:

The guy was an android, his chest was a refrigerator, and he had just pulled the six-pack from his chest.

This guy is a world-class lush.

This guy is an amateur street magician. Did he give you his card after he produced this six-pack?
