The sign on the door of the Arcana Cabana says 'by appointment only', but Connor and his friend more or less have a standing invitation. It's just a matter of whether the door is unlocked

Even now, even in another world, coming to Manhattan makes Connor edgy. Knowing he's only a few blocks from where his shop once stood (and was blown up) in some alternate reality doesn't help. He follows the PINpoint coordinates Balthazar's sent, though, landing himself and Kairos in the nearby alley. He's told her he's met the man in the Nexus a few times, that he's a sorcerer and he seems all right. As always, what Connor doesn't say is pretty significant, because he visits the Nexus but it's rare for him to meet anybody he takes enough of a liking to that he tells her about them, let alone brings her along for a visit. ((Many, many apologies! I procrastinate like crazy on top of being busy! Forgive me?))
Kairos, being Kairos really, holds on to Connor's arm mostly because she knows she calms him down. She's been to her version of NYC before, so she's a little familiar with the area ... but not this place. It feels a little different to her. The magic's different, she guesses.
She sees the gargoyles. She grins up at them. And waves before turning the smile back to Connor with a "thank you!" as she steps inside.
Even Connor, who would never identify himself as magic-sensitive, is a little distracted by the aura of the place. He's also in the habit of scanning any new place as he steps into it, scoping out exits and entrances and defensive points. Kairos might be stepping in first, but the height difference is so extreme he can see over her head easily to take in the place.
Hopefully he's reminded her not to float, at least on the street, here.
When Balthazar starts to move and curses, he tenses just a little, but the apology leaves him looking mildly amused. No harm, no foul. "We could go out and come back in again...?"
