Finally, I have time to talk about the two major gimiks this week.
The December OL gimik, which was also a reunion gimik of sorts, became a food tripping gimik. This was totally unplanned, cause I thought we were supposed to see one of the MMFF movies (which didn't push through, thank God!). We thought of going to Wako for karaoke but that was closed. So we decided on a food trip.
Our first stop was Cafe Breton, where we had lunch. I didn't want anything heavy, so I decided on the open sandwich that had smoked salmon, veggies and wheat bread. I had calamansi juice to wash it all down.
After that, we walked around for a while, and found out that Wako was closed. So we went back to Greenbelt and proceeded to Fully Booked. After that, we went to Max Brenner.
I had a Venezuelan Dark Chocolate. I'm a sucker for dark chocolate (yup, even if I get allergies I don't care XD) so I highly recommend this one. The hugmug is really cute, and I kind of want one for myself. But when I saw how much it cost, I decided against it. XD There was also the Ecuador Dark Chocolate that had orchid oil. It tasted weird - it's like I'm eating an orchid and chocolate at the same time (for real!). I prefer Veneuzuelan, hands down. =D
I love the ambiance of Max Brenner. You can tell that they're after the hearts of women. XD
I didn't eat anything at Max Brenner, so we went to Red Mango. I got a Banana Almond Waffle with green tea yogurt on top. It was so good. We tried to burn what we ate by playing Dance2x Revo and Para2x at Timezone.
Our last stop was at Jipan. I didn't order anymore here, but I did nibble at what the others got. I definitely have to go back and order myself cause the food tasted authentic. =D
The Corregidor trip surprisingly pushed through. Here I was last week, thinking that it's not going to happen because both of my brothers weren't interested. But it did happen, and I was so freaking happy that it did!
This trip was far better than my first one, because I was with family and I didn't have to bring a packed lunch. I think Corregidor Inn was still being constructed or was still "exclusive" during my first visit, when I was still in fifth grade. Also, the ferry that we rode on looked more like a mini battleship than a tourist ferry. We sat on freaking monoblocks the entire ride. I was scared for my life. XD
Oberon performed so well, and I'm so proud of him right now. XD I uploaded a bunch of pictures at
Tumblr, including some amazing panoramas of the island and the island's the major landmarks.
I wish I had a more powerful lens - not the paparazzo-type, but one that's greater than 55mm, but my 18-55mm did very satisfactorily.
