Small town to be sure, but easily worth a day's travel. Virtually the fortress city it was 500+ years ago with interlocking stone houses, public fountains & shrines every 300m or so, and doubtlessly a number of cisterns. Uffizi, laundry, and Firenze wrap up.
I got up at 5am today to pack and make sure I made it to the Uffizi by 7 to wait for tickets since the whole reservation thing wasn't working out. Firenze, woes and completeness
I realized, just about now, that being without a GPS/Smart phone is maddening when the available maps are all drawn, apparently free hand, by artists. They're seldom properly labeled, frequently missing streets, or have anything other than a passing resemblance to reality. Konstance was a nice photography day, at least 2 good pictures and a bunch of Heraldry. It's funny that you'll occasionally get stopped in churches and such if you whip out your tripod, but if you do anything other than whip out the specialized equipment no one says anything. I don't understand why the French and Americans don't get along, they're strikingly similar. Most French drink nearly flavorless pilsners, just like Americans.
