A Hello and a Suggestion: Please Do Not Maim Me.

NOTE: Due to interest, I went ahead and made a community :)  If interested, please feel free to join!  community.livejournal.com/grindeldorebb/

Hello all! I just recently joined the community, although I’ve been interested in Grindeldore since before they were announced as canon.  I’ve spent the last few weeks going through the community and reading ( Read more... )

lol, i don't think anyone would main you for wanting to create more grindeldore! welcome :D

Would you be interested?
-yes! i could only participate in a big bang type thing, as i can only draw...

How long would the minumum you'd like a story to be? (5K? 10K? No limit, just have people enter?)
-most big bangs i've seen seem to have at least a minimum, so maybe a minimum of 5K?

What would be a good time limit? (For the ones lasting 20K, I've seen them start in May, first drafts due by October, posting goes on in November)
-i would imagine you would need at least a few months to put together a long story...maybe if you start soon it could post around the end of summer so people in school could have summer to work on it?

Plots! Does anyone have plots!
- sorry, not at the moment XD maybe if you get this thing going you could have a prompt/plot bunny thread. i'll try to think of something to contribute if that happens :3

Artists, what about you? Would you be interested in either fanmixing/drawing for a story?
- yes :D

good luck!

I had though of starting a "please enter your plots here!" if this actually takes off. I just don't want to end up spamming the fourm. If this takes off, I might make a separate community just so that won't happen . .

So, we have one for a Big Bang!

Can you fanmix? I want this to be a way that EVERYONE here can be involved, reguardless of their talents :D

If we did something like that, I would definitely write!
And I would love to see some Grindeldore epics. There are so few really, nice, long fics, that it would be amazing to see some long ones. But at the same time, maybe a low limit would be best, and let people do what they want.
I don't really know about time.
There could be prompting and prompt claiming, and then there would be a good range of prompts.

This is a wonderful idea!

Awesome! You make three! :D

I'm dying for some Grindeldore epics, too. Hence the idea behind this. What is a good word count you think? 10k minimum?

I am currently writing a longish Grindeldore short story. I don't know if I have another one in me, but if a Big Bang were organized that did not have too high of a minimum word count--don't think I could pass 10,000--I would definitely consider it. On the other hand. I do not have the patience for deadlines which extend out long into the future (months). I cannot sit on a story for months without sharing; sucks the joy right out of it for me. (Sorry. Re-reading this I am really sounding like a Debbie Downer. I don't do well with organized challenges. I like to write and then just post it. But I would love an audience and a collaborator on graphics. I am so torn.)

While I would like to give those who wil be participating a few months to work on their stories (not everyone can produce a 10K story in three weeks xD), I do see your point about it not dragging out FOREVER. I think maybe setting it during the summer months might be best, as it would give students time to write instead of having to worry about school.

Or, we could do it as a two parter. For those who have an easier time, have the sign ups start in Feb, Rough Drafts due May, posting goes June, then start it over . .

I understand about the "write, post!" aspect and it's one I myself have issue with. If we were to allow little sneak peaks "This is what i'm working on!" would you like that? Would that help any? Support, sending things to betas . . ?

OK. I will have to consider if I can come up with another story to tell for the project. I hope to have my current one done in mid- to late-February. It's kind of scary for me to sign up for something that far in advance. I might be a rich and famous published author by then with any luck and won't have time for fanfic anymore! Just kidding. OK, I will step outside my comfort zone and agree to do the long-term deal if it will help to make the project happen. The world definitely needs more Grindeldore in it.

When is Deathly Hallows II coming out with more JCB as Gellert in it? Isn't that summer? That might stir up interest for sure.

Did I mention I will be wanting Beta help with Britpicking and HP canon--it is not my usual fandom? Cringe. God! I am embarassing myself here! I don't know any of you good people. (In my defense, I am a pretty decent writer.)

I think it's a good idea. I would make a fanmix for it.
