What surprised you? There are many such quizzes, and they all gave me varying results.

I've never even considered Chris Dodd and I always thought I matched more strongly with Kucinich than any of the mainstream candidates. It's not exactly rocket science, though, and my top 7 candidates are all within 10 percentage points of each other on that survey.

I don't know your politics that well, but I'd suspect that Kucinich's pro-union, and anti-free-trade positions might be the difference. Like you say, you were very close to the same percentage for most of the Democrats, so the selection of Dodd at the top could be well-within the error-bars of the test.

I was thinking that Edwards or Richardson most closely matched me, but Edwards is a little to the right of me on family values and religion. This particular quiz matched me with Dodd also.

Hmm... possibly. I answered the union and free trade questions pretty middle of the road (I used to work for the AFL-CIO and grew up in Detroit, so I'm probably more pro-union than most people my age).

I find the mainstream candidates wishy-washy on some of the social issues that matter to me. I'm strongly pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-universal health care, pro-income tax, and pro-stem cell research.
