I'm in a better mindset than my last post. Hey, pass on my well-wishes to Lefty. That sucks! Glad he's feeling better.

And I know the whole distinction between visiting your mom and taking care of your mom is easier on paper, but saying it is the first step towards making that distinction happen. Because even if your mom doesn't realize it consciously, she wants you there of your own volition, not just out of a sense of duty. Maybe you guys should try doing more activities together like playing Scrabble or something, or let her read a book to you like she did when you were a kid, to remind you both that it's a social visit. At first, you may have to do the heavy lifting to come up with activities, but maybe she'll come around.
