Snape's my favourite character in the HP movies, mainly because of Rickman's superlative acting. I've only seen him in a few BBC movies, though (other than HP). 'Snow Cake' sounds good. I'll have to keep my eye open for it. :)

He is wonderful as Snape. Knowing him in that role makes it even more interesting to see him as such a different character in other movies. He was also quite wonderful (and lovely) in Sense and Sensibility.

Snape was my favourite character in the books so I was thrilled when an actor I like so much played him in the movie. Rickman is all kinds of awesome. There's an older movie I've been trying to track down but haven't been able to: Truly Madly Deeply. Want to see this one so badly. *sigh*

I enjoyed Snow Cake. Lots of wonderful performances.

Talking of good actors, Timothy Spall is in a BBC film, "Mr. Harvey Lights a Candle" on TVO tonight.

You must wonder where I have been. That name doesn't register with me either. I'll have to take a look. And then I may be in for another marathon of movies.

He plays Peter Pettigrew (AKA Scabbers) in Harry Potter, was Fagin in the Oliver Twist adaptation we saw recently, the husband in Vera Drake . . . .

Yes, I just checked him out on IMDB, and of course I know the face. Now I have to look up Vera Drake ...
