Stolen from xr2, here is my top five albums of 2007!

#5

Amy Winehouse's album Back to Black was one of my favorite albums to listen to during the summer. For me, she was something brand new and fresh from all of the crap MTV was dishing out at the time. It's funny that Winehouse actually does really need to go to rehab. Funny as in ironic...
RECOMMENDED SONGS:
Rehab, Tears Dry On Their Own, Love is a Losing Game

#4

I randomly saw Colbie Caillat's video for he song "Bubbly" on VH1 and loved it immediately. I can honestly say that she is one of the few artists that I can listen to every song on her album, Coco. I wish I could sing like her.
RECOMMENDED SONGS:
Oxygen, Bubbly, Feelings Show, Battle

#3

She isn't that popular over here, but Kate Nash is definitely an artist to look out for! She's similar to Lily Allen but not obnoxious and as extremely opinionated as her. She has her own unique style and voice, with cute songs that I feel in love with when I stumbled upon her Myspace.
RECOMMENDED SONGS:
Foundations, Mouthwash, Pumpkin Song

#2

Tegan and Sara are my second favorite, and their new album, The Con, makes me love them even more. Even though I downloaded the album once it leaked, I definitely made sure to buy the album, and I bought it the day I went to see their free show in Newbury Comics and they signed it and everything. I even have a picture with them, which now that I type this, realize that it's gone since I had to reboot my computer to its manufacturer settings. UGH! Oh well, they are amazing and I love the whole album with the exception of one song. In my opinion, this album was their most mature album to date and it definitely suits them.
RECOMMENDED SONGS:
The Con, Back in Your Head, I Was Married, Knife Going In

Some of you might have figured my number one out by now, and M.I.A.'s album, Kala is it. M.I.A. is really something completely different from what I used to listen to, but she has now introduced me to a bunch of different music and a new style of fashion that I thought I would never be into. I first listened to M.I.A. a few summers back when I heard her short skit song "Banana" from her album, Arular and I loved her immediately. Kala is her second album and it's amazing; listening to her makes me want to dance and seeing her live back in November is already one of my fondest and prominent memories ever. I downloaded the album once it leaked, and I've yet to buy the album itself. But I'm going to!
RECOMMENDED SONGS:
THE WHOLE FUCKING CD; it's amazing. But I do really like Bamboo Banga, Paper Planes, XR2, 20 Dollar

Albums that didn't make the cut but are worthy of mention: The Cool Kids' Totally Flossed Out EP, A Fine Frenzy's One Cell in the Sea, Rhianna's Good Girl Gone Bad, Sean Kingston's self-titled album, Sara Bareilles' Little Voice, and Paramore's RIOT!
