I don't recommend Warren, and you have to be careful what areas of Madison Heights. Some not so great areas there...
Clawson, Berkley & Royal Oak do have a completely different aura about them - they are all very cool neighborhoods to live in.

I grow up in Madison Heights, you don't want to move there. Its hard to re-sell a home there. There are streets that are not so bad but over all, Its not a great place. It has a split school district, one side gets all the trash and the other gets the mall money. It has a lot of crime, and most of the cops are dirty.

The other citys like Royal Oak have lots of old trees that give them that home town feel. Plus you have the down town areas, Madison Heights only has the mall. In Madison Heights you can leave a old scape car in your front yard and no one cares. You got a lot of punk front yard partys in Madison Heights too.

good luck looking, hope you find that perfect home.

I appreciate the feedback. I have sorta felt the same way about Madison Heights. I have driven around it and got a feel for it, and it echos what you both said. There is a house in Clawson that I really like, I was just appeasing my father by at least giving it a look.

Thanks!
