It was nearing midnight, and the moons were glinting off of the water, lapping on to the sandy shore. The beach wasn't where he had intended to land, not that he had really expected to get to Shan Shen on the first try. There was this delicious foamy drink he wanted her to try. However, she seemed to enjoy the opportunity to just lay on the sand and relax. The entire continent wasn't going to be discovered for another few centuries, so it was just theirs for now.
She had spent the evening soaking up the last of the glowing sun's rays. He had spent the time constructing elaborate spires in the sand. When the sun had begun to set, she had disappeared into the Tardis, returning moments later with a large basket. They had relaxed on a blanket, nibbling on sandwiches until long after the sun had completely disappeared. Under the light of the dual moons, they sat and fought and talked. As she dozed off, he remained awake.
As the midnight hour struck, he smiled at his ginger-haired companion and knew that things couldn't get much better. He knew she couldn't stay with him forever, they never could, but he hoped she would be with her for a good while yet.
