London hotels

Off to London next weekend (just the saturday night) to see We Will Rock You ... again!

But we are short of a hotel to stay at ...

Anyone got any recommendations?
A large number of the regular haunts are full ... all the dentral Holiday Inns, Travel Ins, Travel Lodges, Thistle Hotels, Comfort Inns ... anyone got any more we could try?

Have you tried a google search for "cheap hotels"? Seriously, they can often turn up reasonably priced nights in some of the better hotels due to internet discounts :-)

I have previously used lastminute.com with some success, but with some cock-ups .... the last time we looked at one of their "secret hotels" offers and recognised the hotel, so we thought we would give it a go.

We even rung up the hotel to check for vacancies and they said they had none, but we trusted lastminute.com.

We arrived to find the wrong room, without any of the extras that were promised (like bath robes, breakfast, tea/coffee facilities) and the price was £20 dearer too ... we got the difference back in the end but because it is on a internet saver you quite often get the nastiest room the hotel has.

Unfortunately the offers I have seen are in hotels we have tried before and don't want to go back to, but I will continue hunting. Perhaps we are being to picky ... but for the price some of the hotels charge I think we should be ...

I've not actually used lastminute.com

I've only ever used the www to find hotel sites where the hotel lets you book direct with them
