At one level, I feel really shallow and pathetic writing about something this inconsequential.  I mean the differences between what happened to an innocuous gray and white cat in rural Missouri when compared to the shootings at VA Tech yesterday or the equivalent daily death and destruction in Iraq are, well, massive.

I am sorry for posting this here, however, I felt I needed to. I am Daneal, one of the women from October Country. I actually took great offense to your comment about birth control. I had married my daughter's father, so I am not sure where you are getting this from. I would very much appreciate that you do not think badly of any of us, we all fought very hard to do right by our children, even when we were wrong. As for Deseree, she will be better than we were, and I know for a fact that she will go much farther than the rest of us too.
