I watched both Nintendo and Sony's E3 press conferences today. They helped me identify the sinking feeling in my gut whenever I play a recent video game: I'm tired of this bullshit

Very jealous of you getting to go to E3. I feel pretty much the same way you do. The only time I even turn on a console anymore is to play Uno. I don't want to swing my arms around, and I definitely don't want to swing my whole body around to play a game. I have to admit though, I'll be all over Mario Galaxy 2 whenever that comes out.
The xbox 360 live arcade stuff does it for me more than all the big time releases do. I probably play more Castle Crashers, Geometry Wars and N+ (the greatest platformer since Mario) than all my other games combine. Long live indie gameshops!
as someone who doesn't play video games, i would say it's a good thing that you're not entertained by them as much anymore. gives you more time to do other things, more productive things.

I'm wholeheartedly with you on those, add in Catan and you've got most of my console time.

But truly, there are loads of mediocre games vs. the handfull of stand-outs.
I got into the Half Life games, a couple of the GTAs, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Fallout and that's about it for the 2000s.
I'm of course reserving some child-like glee for the arrival of Ghostbusters in June.
