Even with lots of winter driving experience, there's a lot of treacherous and slippery roads up around Imlay in the winter. (We lived in Dryden for half a year, and did most of our shopping in Imlay.) One particularly interesting night resulted from having had a nice warm sunny day, and all the snow on the roads by our house melted just enough that when the temps dropped that night, they just turned to ice. We lived on the corner of a 3-way intersection at the base of a slight hill. Every car that went by the house that night ended up in the snowbanks. We took turns grabbing the shovel and going to dig people out. Nobody got hurt... just embarrassed.
*hugs*
Warm thoughts be with you tonight.
